The Untold Saga- chapters I-III in overview

Hmm. Every time I try to write a journal entry to explain the basis of this story, I wind up drawing a blank on how to start. This time, I'll just type my thoughts as they happen.

And even that's failing me right now. I guess the best place to begin would be the beginning, obviously- so... the story starts off with the main protagonists- Dave and Mira- meeting up to discuss the terms of an agreement they came to in college. Mira's found a house that seems to be completely perfect, for incredibly cheap, and, not surprisingly, Dave wants to go half-in on it as per their agreement. After checking the place out, they boch conclude that it is, indeed, awesome and perfect for their needs and then some, and wind up buying it.

Things get interesting down the road, as confrontations with the Rusotti mafia family propel Dave into a collision-course with their rivals, the Castigliones, that will leave all parties involved more than a little shell-shocked when yet another face emerges from the shadows. As if the mafia couldn't disturb the waters enough, though, an enigmatic, hooded stranger's appearance and subsequent tricks make the world that much more on-edge... and all the more so when he brings friends into the picture in the form of a power-hungry alpha werewolf and his pack. What are a night-shift security guard and a diner waitress to do in response, except to seek out allies from a high-tech vampire lord with a personal score to settle with the werewolves' Alpha? Exactly.

But what, then, if the vampires are also arms dealers, supplying the weapons from their enemies to a resistance movement dedicated to the destruction of a full army's worth of wayward, out-of-work mercenaries looking to make a quick buck from other people's suffering? Why, then it would only make sense for Dave to make friends within the resistance... and perhaps for him to become a part of it as well. And when it's revealed that the mercs are slavers, as well- then it becomes the duty of all upstanding individuals to free the slaves. Right? Right. But say that one of those slaves was originally part of the resistance, and now she's got it bad for Dave because he rescued her... and she feels threatened by Mira because she knows Dave better. Enter Splice.
